In March of 2004 the ministry expanded by building a
new sanctuary that seats more than 500. The new addition
also includes a new office for the Pastor, a bookstore,
a finance room, a choir room, a sound room, and new restrooms.
The Eastside Outreach Center
opened in 2003 on the East End
of Ruston near the Ruston Housing Authority. Services
are held every Friday night at the Center and people can
come and receive the Word, along with free bags of groceries,
clothes and a hot meal.
In March of 2005 the Family Life Center opened with a
full sized gym, an upstairs workout room, kitchen and restrooms.
The upstairs workout room includes an aerobics area as well
as cardio and weight lifting equipment.
In the summer of 2005 New Living Word Ministries began
its Restoration Ministry to
meet the needs of those who needed assistance with getting
their lives back on track. The Restoration Ministry
expanded in the Fall of 2005 in response to Hurricane Katrina.
Many people were housed at the Family
Life Center. In 2007 a home for men and a home
for women were opened to house the homeless men, women,
and children who are a part of the restoration ministry.
In March 2008 an additional restoration home was opened.
In 2006 the ministry expanded to the
Jonesboro, LA area. Services are held every Thursday
night in Jonesboro.
In the Fall of 2007 the New Living Word
Catch-Up School opened to help
students who are a year or more behind in school get caught
up to their correct grade.
Students who attend the school are able to complete two
grades in a year.
New Living Word currently has over
thirty different ministries
designed not only to meet the needs of the people within
the church but to reach beyond the four walls to the surrounding
community.
