New Living Word Ministries began on October 25, 1992 in the Russ room at what was then known as the Holiday Inn hotel. There were around twenty people in attendance at the first service. moved to its current location at 1900 W. Barnett Springs Road. The newly purchased property included a sanctuary seating over one hundred people, several offices, several classrooms, and a kitchen. In 1995 the classrooms were transformed into a daycare center and the New Living Word Child Care Center opened. However, the ministry did not stop there. Membership increased so much that an overflow room was opened to accommodate the increase in numbers. As more and more people continued to come there grew a need for expansion.

In March of 2004 the ministry expanded by building a new sanctuary that seats more than 500.  The new addition also includes a new office for the Pastor, a bookstore, a finance room, a choir room, a sound room, and new restrooms.

The Eastside Outreach Center opened in 2003 on the East End of Ruston near the Ruston Housing Authority.  Services are held every Friday night at the Center and people can come and receive the Word, along with free bags of groceries, clothes and a hot meal.

In March of 2005 the Family Life Center opened with a full sized gym, an upstairs workout room, kitchen and restrooms.  The upstairs workout room includes an aerobics area as well as cardio and weight lifting equipment.

In the summer of 2005 New Living Word Ministries began its Restoration Ministry to meet the needs of those who needed assistance with getting their lives back on track.  The Restoration Ministry expanded in the Fall of 2005 in response to Hurricane Katrina.  Many people were housed at the Family Life Center.  In 2007 a home for men and a home for women were opened to house the homeless men, women, and children who are a part of the restoration ministry.  In March 2008 an additional restoration home was opened.

In 2006 the ministry expanded to the Jonesboro, LA area.  Services are held every Thursday night in Jonesboro.

In the Fall of 2007 the New Living Word Catch-Up School opened to help students who are a year or more behind in school get caught up to their correct grade.  Students who attend the school are able to complete two grades in a year.

New Living Word currently has over thirty different ministries designed not only to meet the needs of the people within the church but to reach beyond the four walls to the surrounding community.
